National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association - NMEDA Canada
Non-profit assembly of auto mobility dealers, manufacturers, industry partners and rehab specialists.
Engineering students at the University of Ottawa are aiming to make fitness accessible for all by developing prototype equipment for those facing mobility challenges. 💪
The project is a partnership between the university and the city and was inspired by a request from a program coordinator hoping to identify a way to make gym equipment more accessible.
University participants in the project include second-year engineering students, who recently released their newest device: an adaptor that makes a standard Concept2 rower wheelchair accessible. As a part of testing, the device is available for use at a local community centre.
