Working toward a fully inclusive Canada and world requires collaboration and commitment across numerous individuals, teams, and groups. For over a decade, the Accessibility Institute has worked to achieve this goal, recently allying with Yazmine Laroche.
Laroche, who has consulted with more than 12,000 public servants, has worked to ensure accessibility policies are shaped by lived experiences to better inform decision-making.
“Making something accessible doesn’t make it less beautiful, it just makes it accessible,” concludes Laroche. “Accessibility isn’t about taking things away from other people, it means making things open to everyone.”
